The Children of Tolstoy (Дети Толстоя) project is the idea to present the same song and lyrics in many language versions. At the very beginning the album presents four language versions: English, Russian, French and Polish. But the project is open to contribution from any artist around the World. You can join the project by translating the lyrics into your own language and/or by recording the song with your own version and then sending to us. You can also support our project by buying this album or particular songs here on bandcamp and spreading the information about our album to your friends.
The lyrics of the song are critically describing the situation with democracy in one only country but can be understood also as a metaphor for any similar processes that can be found here and there. Your own country dedicated versions are also welcomed: you can change the poets and writers names from your country and prepare your translation imprinting in it specific conditions describing what is happening in your country. The author of the lyrics did it already for the situation in Poland (please find the song “Dzieci Miłosza” as a bonus song on this album).
